Arpegios

There are two main characteristics of the arpregios of this book:

1. The thump is used not only for the base role from which every arpegio starts, but is used in other positions as is the case with the other fingers of the right hand.
2. These arpegios do not exercise the hand on neighbouring strings only, but on all possible combination of the six strings.
For every series of chords I have chosen 48 different formulas. There are of course others but I have chosen those which I believe best exercise the hand. Consequently, these are adequate for anyone who wishes to systematically exercise the arpegios and generally the Tirando technique.
My aim with the left hand is to keep it in constant movement to avoid fatigue from immobility but also to be sufficiently easy as to facilitate attention to the right hand. Therefore, the chords used include two open strings.
It is preferable to emphasise the first note (that with the grater value) whether this is played by the thump or any of the other fingers.
Simularly, each arpegio should be repeated more than one on each chord. For the purpose of space, the first 24 formulas of each exercise are written once only.
These arpegios are not intended for advanced players only but for intermediate levels as well.
