This book cousists of three parts exercises belonging to completely different categories.

1st Part

I have produced four formulas for the systematic practice of the chromatic scales. These formulas are applied in each of the six strings and almost cover the full range of the fingerboard.

I cnsider the chromatic scales as the "appetizer" preceding the diatocin scales, the arpeggios, the ligados and the rest of the technical exercises that are regarded as the main course. This is because moving symmetrically they help both handsrelax and in particular assist the left hand to acquire a proper position on the fingerboard.

2nd Part

I have named these exercises "tremolo exercises" but in the fact they are nothing but "arpeggios on one string"

To achieve the best results:

a) The semiquavers must be equal in time

b) They must be played in varions tempi

c) The right hand must be relaxed

3rd Part

These exercises appear very simple at first sight. Their purpose is to introduce something new in the right hand technique. I have been noticing for many years that my students find great difficulty in accentuating one or more notes using the "apayando" stroke. This because the abrupt alternation of the "apoyando" and the "tirando" strokes is never practiced as an exercise. The presented exercises satisfy this special need having very impressive results.
