Magnificat is available in two different instrumentations:

1. Full Orchestra (without organ):

• 2 flutes
• 2 oboes
• 2 clarinets in B flat
• 2 bassoons
• 4 horns in F
• 3 trumpets in B flat
• 3 trombones (2 tenor, 1 bass)
• tuba
• timpani (3 or 4 pedal timpani)
• percussion*
• harp
• strings

 * 2 players: glockenspiel, snare drum, crash cymbals, suspended cymbal, tambourine, bongos.

2. Chamber ensemble with organ:

• flute
• oboe
• clarinet in B flat
• bassoon
• horn in F
• timpani (3 or 4 pedal timpani)
• percussion*
• organ
• harp
• strings (minimum 2.2.2.1.1.)

*1 or 2 players: instrumentation as for full orchestra version
