This new edition of Kreutzer's 42 Studies is based on the teaching experience of more than forty years. The indications for the technical execution of these studies, in particular the fingerings given for the left hand, differ essentially from those of the current Peters' edition which for the most part adheres to the original. The fingerings and bowings which have been carefully considered and tested, endeavour to satisfy the demands of musical logic and sonority, and will be found value not only to those who are attempting these calssical studies for the first time, but also to others who are repeating them with a desire to analyse the techinical problems which they present.
